Holiday Puppet Show on Saturday

Join us here at the library on Saturday, December 5 at 10 a.m. for a special holiday puppet show followed by cookie decorating.  Join Charlotte and her puppets as they tell a magical holiday story sure to get you in the spirit!

Holiday Tree Lighting

The annual holiday tree lighting ceremony will be held Saturday, December 5 at 5 p.m. behind the library. This community event is sponsored by the Dells County Historical Society and will feature carols lead by members of the high school choir, Christmas readings by members of the high school forensic team and a visit by Santa.

Tuesday Tue-Do on December 8

It's a holiday Tuesday Tue-Do.  Tuesday, December 8 from 1-3 p.m. we are making a Tue-Do about holiday decor.  Join Kris and make a holiday tabletop decoration.

An HoChunk Experience - A Community Event

The Kilbourn Public Library is proud to present An Ho-Chunk Experience on Tuesday, November 24 at 6:30 p.m.  The community is invited to experience the Ho-Chunk culture with this musical event. The Wasiira Dance Troupe, the United Clans Drum Group and flutist Tommy Lee will be sharing their musical talents. Don't miss this musical program showcasing local Ho-Chunk culture.

It's A Euchre Tuesday Tue-Do

On Tuesday, November 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. it’s a Tuesday Tue-Do.  We’re learning to play Euchre and having fun.  Don’t know how to play?  We will teach you, so come for the good company & good time.

Library is Closed Thursday & Friday - Saturday is Craft Day

The library will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday but we will be open Saturday and ready to welcome in the holiday season. Saturday, November 28 is Craft Day at the library.  Let the holidays begin! Don’t get swept up with shopping on Saturday, November 28 - come to the library instead.  Create Tree-Trimming Treasures with a variety of ornament stations.  All supplies will be provided.  Stop in anytime between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Bring the family and your creativity! 

Book Club Meets This Week

The Kilbourn Public Library book club will be meeting Monday and Wednesday this week to discuss the book The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.  This book is a collection of related stories about a platoon of American soldiers in the Vietnam War. This New York Times best-seller was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award and has been called the greatest war book ever written. The library book club will be meeting at the library to discuss this powerful and compelling book on Monday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, November 18 at 1:30 p.m.  

Calling All Teens

We are having a special teen movie night in celebration of the upcoming release of New Moon, the second part of the Twilight series.  Since we are not able to show Twilight due to copyright issues, we thought we'd take you back to where the vampire movie originated with a showing of Nosferatu.  In !922, F.W. Murnau wanted to create an adaptation to Bram Stoker's Dracula but was not able to obtain the rights to the novel. With a few minor changes to character names, he shot the film in 1921 and it was released in 1922 as an unauthorized version.  The movie has a strong cult following but is often hailed as a masterpiece in the horror genre and the movie that influence all other vampire films.  Join us at 6:00 pm for the showing.  Bring some friends and we'll supply a ghoulish treat!  Teens only please.

Saturday is Movie Day

Saturday, November 21 at 10:00 am is Movie Day at the library.  Join us for the new DVD release of Up.   Fly high with us as we watch the adventures of a 78 year old balloon salesman and his stowaway wilderness scout when they sail to South America in a house powered by balloons.  We’ll supply the popcorn.

Harvest Day at Lake Delton School

It's the second Saturday of the month which means the bookmobile is off to Lake Delton School on Saturday, November 14th for a special fall treat.  Listen to stories about harvesting fall foods and enjoy some tasty samples.  There will also be a fun scarecrow craft. Celebrate the harvest with us in Lake Delton.  The fun begins at 10:00 am.
