We will be reading The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan. This novel traverses time and geography, spanning China and America with a complex bridge of generational secrets. It gives the reader insight into both the painful intricacies of mother/daughter relationships and the tender, awkward dance between women and men. We have copies of the book available at the library and on the bookmobile. The book club will be meeting to discuss this book on Monday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m. You can also join the discussion online by visiting our KPL Reads book club blog. The annual Stewards of the Dells of the Wisconsin River art contest is upon us. Enjoy guest artist Ellen McGaughey's helpful instruction and create artwork that depicts our beautiful Wisconsin River. This movie brings to life Maurice Sendak’s heartwarming children’s book. It is a classic story about childhood and the places we go to figure out the world we live in. The movie starts at 10 a.m. and you don’t want to miss a minute of this great family movie. The Kilbourn Public Library Bookmobile will be featured at the fair. It is a great opportunity to visit and tour the bookmobile and pick up information about the great activities and programs at the library. Sponsored by the Dells Area Alliance for Young Children, the fair is full of activities geared toward children ages birth to 8 years and their families. This free event will be held Sunday, March 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Chula Vista Resort. Come and join in the free hands-on activities, find information about many community resources, visit the bookmobile, enjoy the free food and have fun! We have copies of Jane Austen's novels and works written about Jane Austen available. Stop in the the library and pick out one of the titles we have chosen. Join us in March and explore writings of and about Jane Austen. The book club meets the 4th Monday and Wednesday of each month. Join us Monday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. or Wednesday, March 24 at 1:00 p.m. to discuss this well-loved English author.
